This 1100 litre single skin steel oil tank is a compact heating oil storage solution for domestic installations where a steel tank is preferred and space is limited. Its narrower shape makes it a practical choice for tighter access points and more awkward installations, while still providing a useful heating oil storage capacity.

Our single skin steel tanks are primarily designed for the storage of heating oil where there is not a requirement for a bunded tank and are manufactured to comply with UK regulations. The tank is sprayed with an undercoat and top coat of Holly Bush Green (RAL 14C39). Other colours may be available at extra cost.
Please note: if you select the no channel runners version, the tank does not include runners to lift it off the ground. If you require channel runners, please select the appropriate option. If selected, the lifting eye is for site movement use only and is not for delivery lifting.

Access and off-loading

Fitting a Single Skin Oil Tank in the UK
Overview
In certain domestic installations in England and Scotland, a single skin oil tank may be suitable. However, this is not generally suitable in Wales or in other areas with stricter requirements, such as Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man. For guidance on your specific installation, it is important to consult an OFTEC-approved technician or engineer.
Oil storage risk assessment
Before installing any oil tank, an oil storage risk assessment should be completed to determine the most appropriate tank and installation method. This assessment should be carried out by an OFTEC-approved engineer to help ensure compliance and reduce the risk of leaks or spills.
When is a bunded tank required?
A bunded (double-walled) oil tank is required in the following circumstances for domestic oil installations:
- The tank is located in Wales.
- The tank is located in Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man.
- The tank capacity exceeds 2500 litres.
- The tank is within 10 metres of controlled water such as a river, lake or stream.
- A spill could run into an open drain or loose-fitting manhole cover.
- The tank is within 50 metres of a borehole or spring.
- The tank is installed on hard or surfaced ground where spilled oil could run off towards controlled water.
- The vent pipe outlet is not visible from the fill point.
- The tank supplies a building that is not a single-family dwelling, such as a commercial or multi-occupancy property.
- The tank is located within an England Groundwater Source Protection Zone 1.
- There are other site-specific hazards that increase the risk of leakage or spillage.
More regulations
- All domestic oil tanks with a capacity greater than 2500 litres must be bunded.
- All non-domestic oil tanks with a capacity over 200 litres are required to be bunded.
